The difference is register, not restraint. She can be explicit where you allow it, and she still holds every limit you wrote down.
To make an AI girlfriend for NSFW conversation you set two things the safe-for-work version leaves out: how explicit the register may get, and where it stops. Both are written into her description rather than toggled somewhere in a settings panel, which is why they hold across a long thread instead of decaying after ten messages.
It is worth being blunt about the trade-off. A character with no stated limits does not become more exciting, she becomes shapeless — everything is available, so nothing is anticipated. The limits are what give the rest weight, and the people who get the most out of adult mode are the ones who wrote the shortest, clearest list.
On privacy: this runs in a browser tab, with no contact import, no public profile and no social graph. There is nothing to install, so there is no entry in an app store history and nothing on your home screen to explain. Everyone here is fictional and written as an adult.

Writing limits that actually improve the thread
Keep the list short and specific. Two or three lines naming what she avoids beat a paragraph of hedging, because a hedged list gives her nothing to hold and she will average it into politeness.
Then say what she initiates. Adult conversations flatten fastest when one side does all the steering, and a single clause about her starting things changes the shape of an entire evening.

An explicit register in conversation, set by you and bounded by the limits you write. It does not remove the age gate, it does not make the characters real, and it does not override a limit you put in her description.
02Do I have to prove my age?
You confirm you are at least 18 before anything loads, and access is refused otherwise. This is an adult service and every character is written as an adult over 18.
03How private is an adult thread?
There is no contact import, no public profile and no social feed. It runs in a browser tab rather than an installed app, so nothing lands on your home screen or in a purchase history, and conversations can be deleted.
04Can I keep one character safe-for-work and another not?
Yes. The register belongs to the character, not the account, so one line on the board can stay entirely ordinary while another is explicit. Both are edited the same way, by changing the description.
